I grew up in the wilds of Yorkshire, reading James Herriot and Richard Adams, so it seemed only natural that I became a vet. After a few years, I realised cats and dogs were a lot less muddy than farms and cows, so I moved across to small animals and now I’m part of the amazing hospital team in Poole. When not at work you'll find me curled up with my cats or being the proud mum to my cheeky teenager.

Hi, I'm Adele and I work on the night team covering out of hours and emergencies. When I'm not at work, I am kept busy with my menagerie of two dogs, two horses, a tortoise and eight ferrets. I'm soon to rehome a feral cat too. As well as this, I'm studying for a canine and equine physiotherapy degree which will help our patients while staying overnight.

My name is Donna and I am part of the emergency team. I have been a been a veterinary nurse for a really long time. It is the best and sometimes hardest job in the world! And I love it! My own cat was really poorly last year and the brilliant team @ Poole 24hr looked after us both and nursed him back to health.

I have been part of Medivet for 4 years, starting as a mobile PCA before training to become a student veterinary nurse. My favourite part of my job is looking after the inpatients so they are happy, healthy and ready to go home. At home I have 2 dogs called Poppy and Lottie as well as 4 rabbits (Benji, Evie, Teddy and Dotty). When not at work, I like spending time with my pets, diamond painting and playing games.

I'm part for the emergency and critical care night team. I have experience in both first opinion practice and in a referral hospital. My favourite part of the job, would have to be nursing very poorly critical ill patients, making their stay at the hospital as comfortable and stress free as possible... Whether that's abit of classic FM on the radio or a cuddle before bed time

I'm Sian i love all animals shape and sizes and looked after many whilst living in spain for 12years. I currently have a cat called daisy-doo and my 2 axolotls, light fury and toothless. My role is a twilight patience care assistant, assisting the nurse and vets treat the poorly animals whilst assessing emergencies over the phone and talking to worried owners is the main part. Look at becoming a nurse in the future.

I'm a Registered Veterinary Nurse, I've only be qualified a year and a half, so still feel I'm learning everday. I've wanted to work in the veterinary field since I was 7 years old when we used to take my old cat to the vets. My favourite part of the job is when we care for a long term inpatient and every day we see them get slightly better until they are ready to go home. I've got a beautiful ginger cat at home called Biscuit, he is a stray I adopted from work. In my spare time, I hang out with friends and family, watch movies and play with Biscuit

Love the fact that the same vet who looked after Mac also looked after him at the weekend too! Was really worried would have to drive miles but they do their own night work! Thank you so much from James & Mac

Lovely vets saw us instantly very late in the evening (between 10pm and 11pm). They found what was bothering our dog and did a scan to reassure us that there were no serious issues. The medicine helped, and our dog is on the mend. We are ever so grateful 🙏 Beware that out of hours appointments are very expensive 😔

Been using them since the Walton Lodge vet days. Their invoicing and charges haven’t been as clear as it used to be since Medivet took over. Typical large corporate organisation now

Totally agree with other comments when it was Walton Lodge the service and staff were fantastic Now it is run by Medivet it is unprofessional, uncaring, and in compassionate We took our 17.5 year old Burmese, 3.5 years with renal failure and other health issues together with our 14.5 year old Burmese who was diagnosed with a tumour in April and other health issues to be euthanised together As anyone can imagine what a heart breaking decision this was to make as their quality of life came first To then be told by a vet we had never seen before they would not euthanise our cats as they could see nothing wrong with them and were told the 14.5 year old could last another 10 years Ridiculous as they were the veterinary practice who originally diagnosed them We will never use this practice again We had them looked at by another practice and they agreed with everything we had told them

Out of Hours care was good but hugely over priced I paid £2500 for emergency appointment, meds and a c section to be honest I was very shocked since EVC 2 years ago quoted me £1200 the new emergency care owners seem to be in it for making as much money as possible.

The service from the vet is very contradictory, considering I was told in the past their was nothing they could do for my pets who are both suffering and have a very poor quality of life, due to the health conditions they are both suffering, I am disgusted with the service and would definitely not recommend taking my cats their in the future,

I attended the out of hours service on the 9th of September. I had my trusted 13yr old lab called merlin . With me who was in a bad way.the vet Tracy and the team were great and very caring. Sadly my trusted friends time had come and was let go..I can't thank you enough for your support and caring approach you showed me at a very sad time. P Powell.
